Cleanup Assistance: CrisisCleanup.org
If you anticipate needing assistance with post-storm cleanup (including debris removal, tarping, or mucking out), CrisisCleanup.org is offering free services. While the services are free, they cannot be guaranteed due to high demand. The hotline, 844-965-1386, will be open until October 25, 2024.
Charlotte County Transit: Rides to Shelters and Libraries
Charlotte County Transit will maintain its normal operating schedule (Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-6 p.m.) with limited service areas. Additionally, they are offering rides to local libraries and the Harold Avenue Recreation Center, which will serve as a shelter during the storm. Business Disaster Loans and Preparation

The following Charlotte County libraries will open Monday-Saturday at 10 a.m. and provide internet access, laptops, and other resources:

Comfort Stations: Showers and Laundry
Charlotte County has established comfort stations for those seeking shelter. An air-conditioned station with showers and laundry facilities will be open at the Harold Avenue Regional Park Recreation Center (23400 Harold Ave., Port Charlotte) from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Be sure to bring your own towels, soap, shampoo, and laundry detergent.
Mobile Medical Clinic
A Mobile Medical Clinic will be stationed at Harold Avenue Regional Park Recreation Center on October 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering essential healthcare services. Residents can arrange for a ride to the clinic by calling 941-833-4000.
Damage Reporting
If you experience storm damage, please assist Charlotte County in the disaster response by reporting it online. Visit tinyurl.com/reportingdamage, provide your address, describe the type of damage, and upload photos.
Sand Drop-Off Sites for Flood Cleanup
Charlotte County has designated two sand drop-off locations for residents and contractors to dispose of flood-deposited sand:
- Englewood Beach (Chadwick Park): 2100 N. Beach Road, Englewood
- Don Pedro & Knight Islands: 1 N. Gulf Blvd.
These sites will be open daily from dawn to dusk. Do not place sand on roads or beaches, as this could lead to fines.

Shelter Information

Older Adults & Adults with Disabilities

Small Business Bridge Loans
